What foods really nurture my gut bugs?


The best foods for your gut are those foods that are in season and local. Keep you eye out for these and try not to buy fruit and veg that aren’t local as the food miles can be enormous and you have to wonder why it’s still ok after all that travelling………..Here’s a list to start with.


Fruit:

apricots, bananas, blackberries, blueberries, cherries, grapes, melons (honeydew, watermelon, rockmelon), rambutan, lemons, lychees, mangoes, nectarines, peaches, passionfruit, pineapple, raspberries, nectarines, oranges, strawberries, pawpaw.


Vegetables:

asparagus, bean sprouts, beetroot, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, chillies, capsicum, celery, cucumber, eggplants, green beans, avocados, lettuce, leeks, mushrooms, peas, pumpkin, rhubarb, radish, snow peas, shallots, spinach, sugar snap peas, sweet corn, tomatoes, turnips and zucchini.




Remember that variety is the key so get as many different whole foods into your world each day as you can.
